- The SIUC Counseling Center is accredited by the International Association of Counseling Services (IACS).
- The professional staff of the SIUC Counseling Center is licensed as psychologists in the Sate of Illinois.
- The SIUC Counseling Center has the sixth oldest accredited university counseling center Pre-doctoral Internship Program in Psychology in the nation. The American Psychological Association has fully accredited the internship program since 1974.

- Student’s can walk into the SIUC Counseling Center Monday – Friday, 8 am to 5 pm and see a counselor immediately without an appointment
