Transition and Degree Completion for Veterans with Disabilities Grant – This grant allows disabled Iraq/Afghanistan War Veterans to transition into higher education utilizing all options available to them. Recently acquired on October 1, 2007 totaling $68,000. Good for renewal two more years, totaling $204,000.
Transition to Employment Grant – This grant provides $100,000 to assist disabled graduates seeking employment. We are currently ahead of completion deadlines and have already reached a 100% placement rating.
State-of-the-art technical components – Adapted Technology, Remote Interpreting, Text Conversion Service, adapted computer technology training for students, rehabilitation and education professionals at the state-wide level. Initiated with external funds, maintained on a fee-for-service and standard budget basis and supported in part by the internal Technology Fee.
Bequest of $230,000 left to DSS by a family member for outstanding service to a person served by this department.
