Assessment – a process of “transformative inquiry”

We believe that assessment is an on-going, systematic method of INQUIRY about….

• Who our student are
• How students change as they move through SIUC
• How our programs/services are meeting the needs of students

These findings help us to TRANSFORM our programs and services

The way in which we assess our students/programs is multifaceted, including qualitative and quantitative methods:

• Survey research
• Focus groups
• Case studies
• Unobtrusive measures
