The Staff Development Committee coordinates 4 sponsored events during the academic year for the Division: Fall Kick-Off, Annual Innovation Award Competition, Holiday Celebration, and Celebration of Service.
Fall Kick-Off (Second Tuesday in September)
This annual event kicks off the beginning of the academic year.
The Annual Innovation Awards Competition (First Monday in October)
The competition invites Student Affairs departments to propose innovation programming and projects that encourage experimentation and/or exploration of a program service, or delivery mode. Approximately $5,000 is awarded for one-time seed grants. Maximum awards are generally $2,000.
Holiday Celebration (First Wednesday in December)
The Division comes together and celebrates the holiday season and the end of the fall semester. Donations to various charitable organizations are also part of the spirit of the holiday celebration.
Celebration of Service (First Tuesday in April)
This event recognizes the accomplishments of the Division, departments, and staff members during the year.
As part of the Celebration of Service Breakfast, several award categories recognizing various staff members are presented to individuals in and outside the Division. The awards categories include:
- Student Employee Recognition Award
- Graduate Assistant Recognition Award
- Staff Excellence & Recognition Award
- Service to Student Affairs Award
