Saluki Single Parent Program

Welcome!

The Saluki Single Parent Program is a University sponsored program that assists the single parent student. Both undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to utilize this service.  Being a single parent can take many forms. The program is open to students at SIUC who are single (not married), divorced, separated, or whose partner/spouse is deployed with the armed services.

The goal of the program is to make college a successful experience for students raising children on their own. Programming is aimed at creating a sense of community among single parents; and providing students with needed resources and linkage.
Having a support system is imperative to the success of all college students. Family centered events, support groups, and educational workshops allow students to connect with other parents on campus who are facing similar challenges.

Program staff also assists students with finding needed resources and accessing services. Staff can assist students with completing forms for CCRR, LINK, or WIC. Linkage and referral is also provided to University and Community resources including counseling services, financial aid, healthcare and much more. The program is designed to help students with any and all questions. For more information on how the Saluki Single Parent can help you, contact us today!
